Company Description Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. is a DPIIT-recognized green biotechnology startup developing an enzymatic biorefinery platform that converts non-wood agricultural waste into industrial enzymes and advanced biomaterials. The company focuses on revenue-first enzyme production for sectors such as textiles and wastewater treatment, followed by high-margin cellulose nanofibers (CNF) for sustainable materials applications.

Its technology is specifically optimized for Indian biomass, enabling cost-efficient and scalable circular manufacturing. By valorizing farm residues, Cellumantra helps reduce farm-waste burning and dependence on imported inputs while supporting a more sustainable industrial ecosystem.

Role Description The INVESTOR FOR CLEANTECH STARTUP (3 % ROI) role is a full-time remote engagement focused on supporting the strategic and financial growth of Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing financial models and investment decks, assessing risk–return profiles, and providing input on funding strategy, capital allocation, and milestone planning.

The investor collaborates with the founding team to refine go-to-market plans for enzyme products and CNF-based materials, participates in periodic review meetings, and monitors performance against agreed impact and revenue targets. This role may also involve facilitating connections with potential partners, co-investors, and industry stakeholders in textiles, wastewater treatment, and sustainable materials, while maintaining alignment with the company’s cleantech and circular economy mission.

Qualifications





Demonstrated experience in early-stage investing, venture capital, private equity, or impact investing, preferably in cleantech, biotechnology, or sustainability-focused ventures.

Solid financial literacy, including the ability to interpret business plans, unit economics, cash-flow projections, and ROI models, and to evaluate risk and return in emerging markets.

Understanding of industrial biotechnology, bio-based materials, or related sectors (such as textiles, wastewater treatment, or agricultural value chains) is highly beneficial.

Ability to provide strategic guidance on market entry, scale-up, and partnership development, with a collaborative approach to working with founding teams.

Comfort operating in a remote, high-uncertainty startup environment, with a long-term perspective on value creation and environmental impact.

Relevant academic background in finance, business, engineering, biotechnology, or sustainability is an advantage, though equivalent practical experience is also valued.

Commitment to ethical, environmentally responsible investment practices and interest in supporting circular economy and climate-positive innovations.
