- The Editorial Assistant will be part of our editorial support teams with the primary responsibility of managing a set of journals.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the journals through collaboration with editors and publisher staff.
- Guide manuscripts through an online platform from initial submission through to final editorial decision.
- Perform technical and administrative checks on manuscripts for compliance with the journals standard after submission, revision, and acceptance.
- Manage high volume of internal and external e-mail correspondence, providing exceptional customer service to authors, reviewers, and staff.
- Monitor the peer review process with a goal of timely completion of tasks by various stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate,
regular status reports to provide performance overview for key stakeholders
Preferred candidate profile
- Digital literacy: Valuable working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel
- Prior experience in laboratory-based or desk-based research Research publications: at least one scholarly article publication is desirable
- Prior knowledge/experience in handling online manuscript submission and peer review management systems
- Ability to deal with challenging problems and proactively identifying additional customer support opportunities
- Ability to independently organize, execute, manage, and track all assigned tasks
