External reporting finance team is involved in producing the financial statements based on statutory rules and as per the local GAAP/ IFRS requirements on a quarterly basis. The team is also involved in preparation of the various reports and forms as prescribed by the Insurance regulatory authorities of various countries where AXA XL writes its insurance business from on a quarterly and annual basis. The team produces various reports for the regulator to show we maintain sufficient level of solvency and liquidity as prescribed by the regulator. The team prepares various reports as prescribed by corporate close calendar. The team performs data clean ups and prepares various source systems other reconciliations to support various stakeholders and auditors.
Whatyoull be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include
- Managing end-to-end quarterly reporting for consolidated XLICSE and XLICSE Mumbai branch.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited toensuring completeness of all the journals required for statutory reporting and core vs stat ledger reconciliations.
- Ensuring completeness of all the journals required for Stat ledger reporting.
- Review of movement in non-technical accounts for the quarter.
- Directing preparation and submission of quarterly controls and reconciliations such as aged debt, management accounts analysis, review of extended trial balance.
- Preparation and finalization of financial statements of XLICSE and XLICSE Mumbai branch.
- Responsible for supporting statutory audit requirements and related queries for both XLICSE and Mumbai branch.
- Responsible for smooth implementation of IFRS 17 for XLICSE Mumbai branch.
- Ensuring effective team management including training and effective work distribution within team.
- Coordinating with various internal teams and functions promoting cross-functional collaboration and best practice.
- Stakeholder management - act as a key contact for all the stakeholders related to including but not limited to onshore counterparts, senior management, external auditors.
You will report to Senior Delivery Lead, Statutory Reporting Change Agent.
Whatyoull bring
Were looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Qualified Chartered accountant with relevant years of experience in reporting.
- Robust Accounting knowledge (UKGAAP IFRS preferred), having grasp of overall Financial Statements (PL and BS).
- Specialized Insurance/Reinsurance knowledge across regulated run-off business, live business,
branches and broker/intermediaries and experience of answering complex queries from (re)insurance regulators.
- Robust analytical skills.
- Expertise in setting up the new processes and deliverables from scratch.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent team Management skills.
- Simplification and continuous improvement of mindset.
- High level of knowledge and experience in working with IFRS 17.
- Proficient in IT skills such as MS excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Working experience of ERP financial system.
- Robust interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to work cordially in a matrix environment across different teams.
