Head, Strategy and Intelligence Office, B2C

This individual will work closely with the Founders, Product Management, Growth, Research, Design, and Engineering teams to determine how our B2C platform enters markets, acquires and retains users, builds defensible positioning, and scales sustainably.
This is not a conventional marketing role. The person will serve as the strategic intelligence engine behind the B2C platform, combining market insights, user behaviour, competitive intelligence, product strategy, and growth experimentation to influence what we build, whom we build it for, and how we take it to market.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Growth -
- Partner closely with the Product Management team to shape the product roadmap using market intelligence, user insights, behavioural data, and growth opportunities.
- Develop the overall growth strategy across acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, referrals, and monetisation.
- Identify high-value user segments, use cases, communities, and geographic markets for phased expansion.
- Translate strategic opportunities into clear product recommendations, growth experiments, and execution plans.
- Define measurable growth hypotheses and success criteria for new features and initiatives.
Strategy and Intelligence Office -
- Build and lead the central Strategy & Intelligence Office for the B2C platform.
- Establish systems for continuously tracking competitors, emerging platforms, market shifts, consumer behaviour, and technology trends.
- Produce actionable intelligence briefs for the Founders and Product Management team.
- Maintain a dynamic view of the platform’s competitive advantages, vulnerabilities, opportunities, and external threats.
- Identify global product patterns and determine which models can be adapted for target markets.
GTM Expansion -
- Design phased go-to-market strategies for institutional, community-led, national,
and international expansion.
- Develop launch playbooks for universities, professional communities, and other priority ecosystems.
- Define positioning, segmentation, targeting, messaging, channel strategy, and launch sequencing.
- Build community-led growth models and strategic partnerships that strengthen adoption and trust.
- Develop market-entry strategies that balance rapid growth with product readiness and long-term retention.
Product Intelligence and Product Insights -
- Work with Product Managers and researchers to understand user needs, behavioural patterns, friction points, and unmet expectations.
- Convert qualitative and quantitative insights into recommendations for features, onboarding, engagement loops, and retention mechanisms.
- Evaluate product initiatives based on their potential impact on user value, differentiation, adoption, and business growth.
- Ensure strategic decisions remain grounded in actual user behaviour rather than assumptions.
Growth Analytics and Experimentation -
- Define key metrics across the user lifecycle, including activation, engagement, cohort retention, referrals, and monetisation.
- Create frameworks for prioritising and evaluating growth experiments.
- Analyse performance across user segments, institutions, communities, features, and acquisition channels.
- Identify why users join, what makes them stay, and what causes them to disengage.
- Build a culture of structured experimentation, rapid learning, and evidence-based decision-making.
Leadership and cross-functional execution -
- Serve as the strategic bridge between the Founders, Product Management, Growth, Research, Design, Technology,
and Community teams.
- Convert organisational goals into structured priorities, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead and mentor researchers, analysts, and strategy professionals within the office.
- Ensure strategic recommendations are translated into accountable execution.
- Present clear recommendations to senior leadership, supported by evidence, assumptions, risks, and expected outcomes.
What we are looking for -
- Strong experience in product strategy, growth strategy, management consulting, consumer technology, market intelligence, business strategy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital consumer products, network effects, community-led platforms, or social technology.
- Ability to collaborate deeply with Product Management teams and influence product direction while maintaining focus on commercial outcomes.
- Solid command of market research, competitive analysis, user segmentation, growth funnels, experimentation, and strategic planning.
- Ability to move comfortably between high-level strategy and detailed execution.
- Excellent analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Intellectual curiosity with the confidence to challenge assumptions and develop an independent point of view.
- Experience building or scaling an early-stage B2C platform will be highly valued.
Success in this role - Success will be measured by the individual’s ability to:
- Establish a high-impact Strategy & Intelligence Office.
- Create clarity around the B2C platform’s positioning, priorities, and expansion roadmap.
- Improve product decisions through actionable user and market intelligence.
- Build repeatable acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Strengthen collaboration between strategy and product execution.
- Identify emerging opportunities before they become obvious to the market.
- Help build a differentiated, defensible, and scalable B2C platform.
