JOB SUMMARY As the Head of Quality Assurance (Optical Payloads), you will take strategic ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS) architecture governing our high-reliability optical payload manufacturing operations. Moving beyond reactive inspection, your focus will be driving a proactive, preventative quality culture through system-level governance, contamination control, and process-level risk mitigation. In this executive engineering leadership role, you will interface directly with regulatory authorities, manage enterprise-wide quality audits, and chair the internal Quality Council.

You will directly own core success metrics, including achieving a 100% Audit Success Rate, driving down the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), and continually enhancing Process Capability Index (Cpk) across optical payload lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Architect & Govern Enterprise QMS: Design, implement,



and maintain an end-to-end QMS framework strictly aligned with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards across satellite optical payload manufacturing lines.

Lead Systemic Risk Management: Perform comprehensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify, isolate, and mitigate process-level vulnerabilities across the manufacturing lifecycle.

Define Strategic Quality Controls: Establish organizational standards for optical manufacturing, including rigorous contamination control, cleanroom protocols, and end-to-end material traceability.

Drive Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA): Qualify and audit high-reliability aerospace vendors using systems-level quality architectures rather than traditional post-production inspections.

Chair the Quality Council: Spearhead organizational alignment on quality performance, continuous process improvement, and cross-departmental standards enforcement.

Execute Regulatory & Internal Audits: Serve as the primary lead for external agency, regulatory body, and customer system-level audits while running internal auditing programs to ensure operational compliance.

Track & Report Quality Performance: Maintain audit performance metrics, document root-cause resolutions, and deliver executive-level reporting on process capability and quality costs. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

Education: BE / B.Tech or ME / M.Tech in Engineering, Physics, Optics,



or a related technical discipline.

Experience: 10+ years of quality management experience, with a focus on system-level QA in aerospace, space systems, or complex optical/electro-optical manufacturing.

QMS Standards: Deep technical expertise in implementing and auditing AS9100 and ISO 9001 frameworks.

Quality Methods & Tools: Proficiency in FMEA (Risk Management), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA systems, and Process Capability Index () optimization.

Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated ability to instill a preventative quality culture, manage senior regulatory interfaces, and drive down the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ). PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or AS9100/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.

Direct working knowledge of European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) quality and reliability standards (ECSS-Q series).

Hands-on experience with satellite payloads, cleanroom environments, or space-qualified optoelectronic assemblies. WHY JOIN US?
