Hiring: Head – Horticulture & Sustainable Agriculture

About the Chance We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Head – Horticulture & Sustainable Agriculture to lead the development of a large land parcel into a profitable and sustainable agribusiness venture.

This is a unique greenfield opportunity for a horticulture professional who is passionate about transforming land into a high-value commercial enterprise. The successful candidate will evaluate and implement innovative farming models such as organic farming, hydroponics, protected cultivation, floriculture, exotic fruits and vegetables, medicinal plants, agroforestry, nurseries, and other high-return horticultural businesses.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess the land and recommend the most commercially viable horticulture and agriculture business models.
- Prepare feasibility studies, business plans, investment estimates, and profitability projections.
- Plan, establish, and manage horticulture projects including organic farming, hydroponics, greenhouses, nurseries, orchards, and high-value crop cultivation.
- Develop annual cultivation plans, crop calendars, irrigation strategies, and farm infrastructure.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing scientific farming practices, precision agriculture, and sustainable technologies.
- Build market linkages with institutional buyers, retailers, exporters, and processors.
- Identify opportunities for value addition, food processing, and agri-based businesses.
- Recruit, train, and lead farm managers,



agronomists, and field teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental regulations, and organic certification requirements.
- Explore government grants, subsidies, and agri-development schemes to maximize project viability.

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture (B.Sc. Horticulture) – Mandatory.
- Master's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Agronomy, or Agribusiness – Preferred.
- MBA in Agribusiness will be an added advantage.

Experience
- 10–20 years of experience in horticulture, commercial farming, plantation management, or agribusiness.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing large-scale horticulture or agricultural projects.
- Strong knowledge of organic farming, hydroponics, greenhouse cultivation, irrigation systems, and precision agriculture.
- Experience in preparing business plans and managing profit-oriented agricultural ventures.
- Exposure to export-oriented farming, value-added agriculture, or agri-processing will be preferred.
