GRI Appoints Tharindu Atapattu as New CEO

Global Rubber Industries (Pvt) Ltd. (GRI), a leading global player in the tyre and rubber sector, has announced the appointment of Tharindu Atapattu as the company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Atapattu brings over two decades of executive-level experience to his new role, with a proven track record in financial planning, operational efficiency, customer service improvement, and data-driven strategic decision-making, according to company officials.

Prior to his appointment at GRI, Atapattu served as the Director and CEO of Swisstek Aluminum Ltd. and Lanka Swisstek Pvt. Ltd.

- India, positions in which he gained valuable insights into managing operations at both regional and international levels.

In his new position at GRI, Atapattu is expected to drive forward several strategic initiatives designed to bolster the company's position within the global market. Key areas of focus will include strengthening GRI’s financial resilience and stability, refining manufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence, and optimising the global supply chain to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.

Additionally, Atapattu aims to cultivate talent and develop internal capabilities, positioning GRI's workforce to meet current and future industry challenges effectively. A significant emphasis will also be placed on digital transformation, with Atapattu seeking to leverage technological advancements to open up new market opportunities and streamline operations.
