About Us At CosmoChute, we are building modular, reusable lunar robotics infrastructure for long-duration planetary operations. Our systems combine mobility, modular payload deployment, survivability through lunar nights, and repair ability to make sustained presence on the Moon economically viable. We’re a deeply technical, fast-moving team that believes in real ownership, real trust and in creating an environment where your best work matters.
If you want to work on hardware that will one day operate on the moon, this is the role. Your Role
We're looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our core engineering team. This is an early-career role for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, genuine curiosity, and the hunger to grow fast in a demanding technical environment. You will be expected to engage with real problems, ask questions, and take ownership of your work from day one.
You’ll work directly alongside senior engineers developing and testing what becomes the backbone of the lunar surface mission as it lives and works through extreme environments. Your Responsibilities
Support the design and development of mechanical subsystems for lunar robotic systems (focusing on structures, mechanisms, and interfaces)
Create and maintain CAD models and engineering drawings under the guidance of senior engineers
Assist with FEA and structural analysis.
Support fabrication, integration, and test activities
Contribute to documentation including design reports,
test procedures, and assembly instructions
Work closely with engineers across disciplines and learn how a space system comes together at the system level Requirements
Must have
Strong fundamentals in mechanics, materials, and manufacturing
Working knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
Genuine enthusiasm for space and hands-on hardware
Good to have
Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
Experience with space-heritage hardware (qualification, environmental testing, materials selection for vacuum/radiation environments)
Familiarity with lunar or planetary surface environments
Exposure to mechanisms, deployables, or robotic systems
Final year project or thesis in robotics, embedded systems, or a space-adjacent domain
Experience working with CubeSat, Rover, Formula Student, or research projects What we deeply value
Curiosity and ownership
Ability to learn quickly across disciplines
Practical engineering judgment and first principles thinking
Profound mutual respect among co-workers
Strong grit towards troubleshooting and iterative development
Cross-disciplinary thinking and collaboration Advantages
