Job Description: Lead Spa Therapist
Department: Wellness Spa

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and service-oriented Lead Spa Therapist to join our founding team and play a key role in building one of Kolkata's most distinctive wellness destinations.
Position Summary
The Lead Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional therapeutic treatments while leading the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Spa. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines therapist excellence with operational supervision, team mentoring, guest experience management, quality assurance, inventory control, retail performance, and compliance with Velora's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring every guest receives a safe, personalized, and memorable wellness experience.
Key Responsibilities
A. Guest Experience & Therapeutic Services
- Deliver professional spa therapies in accordance with Velora SOPs.
- Conduct guest consultations and recommend personalized treatment plans.
- Ensure exceptional guest comfort, privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Build lasting guest relationships through personalized service.
- Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally.
- Maintain complete treatment records wherever applicable.
B. Spa Operations
- Supervise the daily operations of the Wellness Spa.
- Open and close the spa as per operational procedures.
- Manage therapist schedules and treatment room allocation.
- Coordinate appointments to maximize operational efficiency.
- Ensure all treatment rooms are fully prepared before every service.
- Coordinate seamlessly with the Wellness Hospitality Team to deliver a smooth guest journey.
C. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate the therapist team.
- Conduct daily team briefings.
- Ensure adherence to grooming standards and professional conduct.
- Train therapists on new treatments, SOPs, guest service, and hygiene practices.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance development of therapists.
D. Quality, Hygiene & Compliance
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sterilization, and safety.
- Monitor compliance with all Velora SOPs.
- Ensure treatment rooms, equipment, linen, and products meet operational standards.
- Maintain guest safety and confidentiality at all times.
E. Inventory & Asset Management
- Monitor inventory of oils, creams, linen, towels, consumables, and retail products.
- Minimize wastage through effective stock management.
- Raise purchase requisitions as required.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of spa products and equipment.
F. Retail & Business Performance
- Promote wellness memberships, gift vouchers, retail products, and signature spa experiences.
- Encourage responsible retail recommendations based on guest needs.
- Support monthly revenue and retail sales targets.
- Contribute ideas to enhance guest satisfaction and business performance.
G. Administration & Reporting
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Maintain therapist productivity records.
- Monitor inventory reports.
- Record guest feedback and service recovery actions.
- Submit sales, retail, and operational reports as required.

Qualifications
- Degree, Diploma, or Professional Certification in Spa Therapy, Beauty & Wellness, Ayurveda, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in a premium day spa, wellness centre, luxury hotel spa, or destination spa.
- Prior experience supervising or leading a therapist team is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and guest relationship skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for appointment management and reporting.

Working Hours
12:00 PM 10:00 PM
Weekly operational roster as per business requirements.
