About the Role

We are seeking a Geospatial Data Specialist (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, spatial analysis, mapping, geospatial data annotation, and AI-generated geospatial content evaluation.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated maps, spatial analyses, satellite imagery interpretations, geospatial datasets, GIS workflows, and location intelligence solutions. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for mapping, navigation, urban planning, environmental monitoring, autonomous systems, and location-based analytics.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in GIS, geospatial analytics, cartography, surveying, remote sensing, environmental science, civil engineering, urban planning, or geospatial software development.

Responsibilities

- Review AI-generated maps, GIS models, geospatial datasets, spatial queries, technical reports, and location-based analyses.
- Evaluate workflows involving geocoding, coordinate systems, projections, spatial joins, raster and vector analysis, terrain modeling, geofencing, and geospatial visualization.
- Verify AI-generated interpretations of satellite imagery, LiDAR, GPS data, drone imagery, and spatial datasets using accepted GIS methodologies.
- Assess AI-generated geospatial documentation for technical accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Identify mapping errors,



projection inconsistencies, topology issues, inaccurate spatial analysis, and data quality problems.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in geospatial reasoning, GIS workflows, and spatial data interpretation.
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in GIS, Geospatial Analytics, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, mapping, surveying, remote sensing, spatial data management, or location intelligence.
- Creating, editing, and analyzing raster and vector datasets.
- Working with satellite imagery, aerial photography, GPS, LiDAR, and drone-based datasets.
- Performing geospatial analysis, network analysis, and spatial modeling.
- Reviewing AI-generated geospatial outputs for spatial accuracy and technical correctness.
- Managing coordinate reference systems, projections, and geospatial databases.
- Proficiency with geospatial tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, Global Mapper , or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with Python , SQL, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio, or geospatial APIs is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenStreetMap (OSM), GeoJSON, KML, Shapefiles,



GeoTIFF, and other common geospatial data formats.
- Excellent analytical thinking, spatial reasoning, and written English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make evidence-based geospatial evaluations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in government mapping agencies, environmental organizations, transportation, utilities, telecommunications, defense, autonomous vehicle companies, logistics, agriculture, or urban planning.
- Expertise in one or more areas such as Remote Sensing, Urban GIS, Environmental GIS, Transportation GIS, Geospatial AI, LiDAR Processing, Geospatial Data Engineering, Spatial Machine Learning, or Drone Mapping.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated maps, satellite imagery analysis, GIS models, navigation systems, or geospatial datasets.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, prompt engineering, RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), AI benchmarking, computer vision, or geospatial AI evaluation is an advantage.
- Qualified certifications such as Esri Technical Certification , GISP (GIS Professional) , or equivalent geospatial certifications are highly desirable.
