GIS ManagerAbout Mapmycrop

Mapmycrop builds satellite and geospatial intelligence solutions for agriculture, helping partners and customers monitor crops, manage farms, and make data-driven decisions at scale. Our APIs and integrations sit at the core of how partners across the agri-tech ecosystem access this intelligence.

Role Summary

We're looking for a GIS Lead / GIS Manager to own the technical relationship between Mapmycrop's geospatial capabilities and our partner and customer ecosystem, while also owning the quality, standards, and processes behind every geospatial deliverable we ship. This is a hybrid role: part solutions engineer facing partners and sales, part internal bridge to product and engineering, and part quality owner for geospatial delivery across the company.

Key ResponsibilitiesExternal — Working with Partners and Sales

- Act as the technical face of our APIs and integrations for prospective partners: run demos, answer deep technical questions, and help Sales move larger, higher-value deals across the finish line. Build demo environments and solution patterns that can be reused across regions rather than rebuilt from scratch each time. Look for opportunities to expand what existing customers use us for.
- Serve as the go-to technical point of contact between the partnerships function and customers for go-to-market solutions across our target verticals.
- Design the integration approach for each partner in collaboration with their technical leads — shaping onboarding flows and staying hands-on through implementation.
- Be the person partners trust on anything technical: available for testing support, resolving issues as they come up,

and flagging opportunities before they're asked.

Internal — Working with Product and Engineering
- Translate what's happening on the partner side into something the product org can act on: relay market signals and feature feedback, keep partner roadmaps documented, pilot current features before wider release, coordinate rollout timing, and weigh in on which technical improvements matter most.
- Equip Sales, Customer Success, and Support with what they need to hold their own in partner conversations — documentation, test plans, training sessions, and integration know-how.
- Sit with Sales and Product to pin down the fine print of each integration — unusual cases, edge conditions, and requirements — so that detail makes it into what gets built.
- Keep existing integrations healthy as the product evolves: track downstream impact of product changes and run down any regressions or breakage that result.

Geospatial Standards & Process Ownership
- Review all geospatial delivery output across the company; uphold and enforce data quality, accuracy, and delivery standards.
- Define, document, and continuously improve SOPs for geospatial data processing, QA, and delivery workflows.

- Identify process gaps and drive improvements that increase delivery speed and consistency without compromising quality.
- Establish review checkpoints and quality benchmarks for geospatial outputs delivered to partners and customers.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in GIS/geospatial roles, with at least 2 years in a technical partner-facing, solutions engineering, or delivery leadership capacity.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a geospatial/GIS team, including setting and enforcing quality standards.
- Experience working directly with sales, partnerships, or customer-facing teams to support technical deals or integrations.
- Strong understanding of satellite imagery, remote sensing workflows, and agricultural/geospatial data pipelines is a strong plus.

Skills & Tools
- GIS software and libraries: QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, Rasterio, or equivalent.
- API and integration fluency: REST/GraphQL APIs, Postman, webhook-based integrations.
- Remote sensing and satellite data platforms (e.g., Sentinel Hub, Google Earth Engine, or similar).
- Familiarity with SQL and spatial databases (PostGIS or equivalent).
- Strong documentation, process design, and SOP-writing skills.
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills for technical demos.

Experience Level Senior-level individual contributor/team lead — this role owns both a small geospatial team's output and cross-functional partner relationships, reporting into Product or Engineering leadership.
