Hands In is a London-based fintech building enterprise payment technology for airlines and travel companies. Our platform is built using a modern TypeScript stack on AWS.

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer with a strong software testing background who believes in building reliable, maintainable software through automated testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Engineering quality is important to us; we value clean architecture, automated testing, thoughtful code reviews and continuous refactoring.

The Role

You'll work across both frontend and backend to develop new features, improve existing functionality, and help maintain a scalable cloud-based platform. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals who enjoys writing well-tested code and building software that is easy to maintain and extend.

Responsibilities

- Build new features using a test-first mindset.
- Write automated unit and integration tests alongside production code.
- Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) where appropriate.
- Build and maintain full-stack features across frontend and backend.
- Develop REST APIs using Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
- Build responsive user interfaces with React and Next.js.
- Design modular, scalable and highly testable software.
- Work with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Debug, optimise and troubleshoot production issues.
- Participate in code reviews with a strong focus on code quality, testing and maintainability.




- Collaborate closely with the engineering team throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

- 2–3 years of software development experience (or equivalent personal/commercial projects)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience building applications with Node.js, React and Next.js
- Experience developing REST APIs
- Strong experience writing automated unit and integration tests
- Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and software testing best practices
- Ability to design clean, loosely coupled and testable software
- Experience with Jest, Vitest, Playwright or similar testing frameworks
- Experience working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Familiarity with Git and team-oriented development workflows
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to overlap at least 4 hours with UK working hours
