The company plans to continue leveraging technology and top tier talent to enhance customer service and offer current product lines and services.
ARCHERs core offering is post-settlement Healthcare Lien Resolution Administration and QSF (Qualified Settlement Fund) Administration and payments processing for multi-claimant (mass tort and class action) litigation. Other services include claims administration, single event lien resolution, probate and bankruptcy coordination, release administration, medical records review, and plaintiff fact sheet and other intake/census preparation and management. ARCHER enables law firms to focus on their litigation while ensuring that critical pre-settlement and post-settlement administration documents, services, business analytics and reporting are handled efficiently and effectively.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Analyst’s primary function is to support the design and development of ARCHER’s future state technology platform ARCHER Connect®. This role requires solid technical aptitude to help bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation. The Business Analyst will work closely with the product team, developers and testers, interface with departments across ARCHER to understand and document their needs and requirements, diagram workflows, evaluate current processes and contribute to the design of technical solutions that meet the business needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate business requirements into transparent, detailed functional specifications that guide software development
- Analyze and review requirements for completeness, consistency,
comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
- Break down Epics into Stories in Jira and write acceptance criteria with guidance from senior team members
- Facilitate scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Refinement, and Sprint Retrospective
- Work closely with the QA team on testing scenarios and coverage for user stories
- Design and develop SQL queries to support data analysis and to help with defining requirements Create and maintain Excel formulas and mapping files
- Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
- Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Convert prioritized product roadmap features into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira
- Contribute to design sessions for new system functionality and prepare screen mockups for review
- Ability to self-task and self-pace; ensuring timely submission of deliverables and participation in both recurring and important meetings
- Meet agreed timelines and checkpoints, providing regular and transparent status updates to the product team and reporting manager
- Interface with both technical and non-technical members of ARCHER; clearly and efficiently communicating with the terminology and detail appropriate for the audience
- Graph, chart,
and clearly document current business processes and tribal knowledge into an understandable format that can be conveyed to parties with little to no knowledge of the subject
- Maintain requirement documentation and follow established business analysis templates, standards and team processes
- Assist with eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs of stakeholders, customers and end users
- Assist with conducting interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
- Work with stakeholders and the product team to clarify, confirm and prioritize requirements as needed Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate requirements gathering, drafting user stories, and synthesizing stakeholder input from meetings and transcripts Apply AI-driven review to surface additional test/business scenarios, and flag gaps, conflicting rules, or missing validation logic in epics and stories
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ Years working as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or similar position
- SQL skills and experience writing queries for data analysis
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with formulas, lookups and data validation
- Working knowledge of workflow modeling tools like Lucid chart.
- Critical thinking skills
- Experience working with Agile/SCRUM, writing user stories and following the development process through user story acceptance
- Strong collaboration, communication, documentation and presentation skills
Preferred
- Agile certifications. (Good to Have)
- Exposure to legal, financial and accounting domains. (Good to Have)
- Experience developing mock-ups or wire-frames
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
