Key Responsibilities / What Youll Do:

Backend Engineering & System Design

- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using NestJS and Node.js, with mentorship and code review support from the team
- Write efficient, well-structured code for features across the platform, with a growing understanding of scale considerations (load, latency, concurrency)
- Translate well-defined product requirements into working technical solutions, escalating ambiguity where needed

Database & Infrastructure

- Work with SQL (Postgres/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases for day-to-day feature development
- Write and optimize queries, and assist in basic data modeling and indexing

AI-Driven Development

- Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate day-to-day development while maintaining code quality
- Apply AI/ML-powered components already built into backend workflows recommendations, personalization, automation engines)
- Stay current with AI-assisted engineering best practices and adopt tooling recommended by the team

Code Quality & Observability

- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following SOLID principles, with guidance from code reviews
- Use APMs & monitoring tools (NewRelic, Datadog, OpenObserve, Prometheus/Grafana) to debug issues and understand system health

Ownership & Reliability

- Own end-to-end delivery of well-scoped features/modules, from implementation to basic production monitoring
- Participate in on-call rotations, building debugging skills for live issues





Collaboration & Growth

- Work closely with the engineering team, Product, and Design to deliver features on time
- Actively seek feedback, ask questions, and grow towards taking on increasingly independent modules
- Participate in team rituals such as sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions

Experience & Qualifications:

Must-Have

- Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 13 years in backend development, with exposure to NestJS + Node.js (or strong
- Node.js/JavaScript fundamentals with willingness to ramp up on NestJS)
- Robust fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOP
- Working knowledge of system design basics and microservices concepts
- Hands-on experience with at least one SQL and one NoSQL database
- Basic exposure to monitoring/APM tools (NewRelic, Datadog, OpenObserve, etc.) is a plus
- Willingness to learn and build in a regulated, compliance-conscious environment
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization basics (Docker) preferred
- Comfort using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, Tabnine, etc.) in day-to-day development

Strong-to-Have

- Prior internship or full-time experience in fintech or another regulated environment
- Familiarity with event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Basic understanding of DevOps & CI/CD pipelines
- Curiosity about integrating AI workflows into production systems
- Good communication skills and eagerness to learn
