Role Description The Freight Forwarder and Business Developer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Chennai, with a mix of office-based work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating international and domestic shipments, managing documentation, tracking cargo, and ensuring on-time delivery in line with client requirements. The role involves liaising with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and other logistics partners to negotiate rates, arrange bookings, and resolve operational issues.

The position also includes identifying recent business opportunities, managing client relationships, preparing proposals, and supporting sales efforts to grow the customer base.



The individual will collaborate with internal teams to optimize supply chain solutions, maintain service quality, and contribute to revenue and margin targets.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations, including shipment coordination, documentation, and cargo tracking.

Experience in business development or sales within logistics or related sectors, with skills in lead generation, client relationship management, and negotiation.

Understanding of international trade practices, Incoterms, customs procedures, and multimodal transport (air, sea, road).

Proficiency in using logistics or ERP systems, MS Office tools, and basic data analysis for pricing and performance tracking.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and service quality.

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.

Prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations in Chennai or similar markets is preferred.
