Role Description This remote Freelance Mandarin (Chinese) Interpreter role is a contract position focused on delivering accurate, real-time interpretation between Mandarin (Chinese) and English. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating communication during virtual meetings, calls, webinars, and training sessions; interpreting spoken content in business, technical, and formal settings; and ensuring clarity, confidentiality, and cultural appropriateness.

The interpreter may also support occasional translation or review of written materials, prepare terminology and glossaries before assignments,



and collaborate with project managers to meet client expectations and timelines. Work is assignment-based, with flexible hours depending on project needs.

Qualifications

- Strong interpreting skills with the ability to provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation between Mandarin (Chinese) and English in real time.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin (Chinese) and excellent command of English, with clear, skilled verbal communication.
- Solid understanding of cultural nuances, business etiquette, and the ability to adapt language to different audiences and contexts.
- Comfort with remote work tools, including video conferencing platforms, audio equipment, and basic productivity software.
- Prior experience as an interpreter or translator in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, gaming, life sciences, or government is highly beneficial.
- Professional certification in interpreting, linguistics, or related fields, or relevant training from recognized institutions is an advantage.
- Reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and the ability to manage assignments independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Availability to work flexible hours across time zones and willingness to adhere to White Globe Group’s quality and data protection standards.
