About Recollia
Recollia is a mobile-first medical education platform built for India's NEET PG aspirants and early-career doctors. We combine AI-powered tutoring, clinical case simulation, and structured courses with a voice-first, multilingual experience — because studying for one of the hardest exams in the country shouldn't also mean fighting with clunky tools or a language barrier. We're a small, fast-moving team building tools we'd have wanted ourselves as students.
Role Description
We are looking for a Remote Frontend Engineer Intern with a strong design sensibility to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the founder and report directly to him. You will be responsible for building high-performance, intuitive interfaces for our web platform — AI tutoring conversations, multi-stage clinical case simulations, study planners and progress analytics, and the gamification layer (XP, streaks, achievements) that keeps students coming back.
This is a role for someone who writes clean React and cares about the 4px that's off. You will work inside a shared design system, extend it, and defend it — the same tokens drive both our web app and our mobile app, so consistency is a real constraint, not a nice-to-have.
Responsibilities
- Full-Stack UI Development: Build, optimize, and maintain responsive web applications using Next.js 15 (App Router), React 19, and TypeScript, alongside cross-platform mobile views using Flutter & Dart or React Native.
- Data Visualization & Analytics: Design and implement clear, information-dense data visualizations — study progress dashboards, topic mastery breakdowns, MCQ accuracy trends, wellbeing indicators — using Recharts on web and Custom Painters/FL Chart (Flutter) or Victory Native/React Native Skia (React Native) on mobile.
- Real-Time Streaming UIs: Build real-time streaming UI for conversational AI and voice-first interaction: token-by-token tutor responses, live transcription, and audio playback state, over WebSockets and Server-Sent Events across web and mobile.
- Component Architecture & Styling:
Own component architecture and utility-first styling with Tailwind CSS 4, Radix UI / shadcn, and Framer Motion + Lottie (or native mobile animation equivalents) for interface movement that communicates rather than decorates.
- Design System Governance: Extend and maintain our unified design token system (color, type, spacing, radii) so web and mobile stay visually in sync; translate Figma output into durable, documented components across platforms.
- State & Data Management: Manage application state and server data cleanly with Zustand, TanStack Query, and BLoC/Riverpod (Flutter) or Redux Toolkit/Zustand (React Native); keep bundle sizes, hydration cost, and network waterfalls under control.
- Multilingual & Mobile-First Optimization: Build for a diverse, multilingual audience: layouts that survive multiple Indian scripts, long medical terms, low-end Android devices, and varying network conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate remotely with backend, AI, and product teams to turn clinical and study workflows into accessible, low-friction interfaces across web and mobile.
Qualifications
- Background: Pursuing a degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Design/HCI, or Circuital Branches — or a self-taught portfolio that speaks louder than a degree.
- Web & Mobile Fundamentals: Mastery of HTML5, CSS3, up-to-date JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and rendering mechanics across browsers and mobile viewports; experience with Flutter/Dart, React Native, or native iOS/Android is welcome.
- Design Craft: A real eye for typography, spacing, hierarchy, and motion.
You can take a rough spec and produce something that looks considered — and explain why you made each choice. Portfolio or live work required.
- Core Stack & Frameworks: Proficient in React and Next.js, with hands-on experience in Tailwind CSS and headless/primitive component libraries; any cross-platform mobile framework (Flutter, React Native, or similar) is a strong plus.
- State & Data Management: Experience with Zustand, TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, or platform-equivalent state management patterns (e.g., Riverpod/BLoC for Flutter).
- Accessibility & Performance: Familiarity with semantic HTML, accessibility (a11y) standards, keyboard navigation, contrast requirements, and app performance optimization.
- Tooling & Deployment: Comfortable with Git, npm/pnpm (and pub for Flutter, if applicable), and deployment pipelines (Vercel, Play Store, TestFlight).
- Communication & Collaboration: Able to work effectively in a remote team, communicate design and technical tradeoffs clearly, and document UI components systematically.
- Availability: This is a full-time remote internship commitment. Candidates must be able to secure approval from their college/university for a full-time internship — please confirm this with your institution before applying.
Nice to have
- Figma fluency — able to work in the file, not just read it.
- Experience with real-time or streaming UIs (chat, transcription, live dashboards).
- Any exposure to Flutter, React Native, or shipping for the Indian mobile market.
If you think you are a good fit for this role, please send your resume to
[email protected] along with a brief introduction about yourself, why you are a good fit, and a description of something impactful you have built in frontend development or data visualization. Please include a link to your portfolio, GitHub, or a live project — we care more about what you've shipped than what you've listed. Please note: only candidates whose college has approved them for a full-time internship commitment will be considered. Stipend - 20,000 inr/month
