Former car valuer John Cassidy, from Nottingham, has released his first book, an eclectic mix of poetry, memoir and satire inspired by the automotive trade. In late 2024, he turned to Ben’s free and confidential coaching service at a critical point in his life. Over six sessions, he gained the confidence, structure and motivation to transform his long-held writing ambitions into tangible results.
Ben said its coaching aims to help automotive professionals navigate personal and career challenges and offers tailored programmes for anyone in or formerly in the industry. A Creative Rebirth With Ben’s guidance, Cassidy completed his manuscript and prepared a one-man show for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025. His book, The Car Showroom Poet, combines memoir, poetry, parody and satire drawn from years in the trade. “Reaching out to Ben felt like someone finally saw me and understood that my journey, although unconventional, was valid,” Cassidy said. “Coaching helped me break my ambitions of writing a book into bite-sized steps, turning inner chaos into real progress.” He added: “By the time we finished my final coaching session, I held a completed manuscript in my hands,
ready for publishing… it truly changed my life.” To purchase your copy of The Car Showroom Poet book, visit: https://amzn.to/46UG4aV Tagged: John Cassidy, The Car Showroom Poet, Ben charity, automotive poetry, dealership careers, career change, Edinburgh Fringe, UK automotive industry, poetry satire, Nottingham poet Disclaimer: This content may include forward-looking statements.
