This role combines four distinct capabilities: brokerage finance operations, capital markets and banking knowledge, financial modelling, and credit assessment documentation with direct bank communication. It is a broader scope than a typical finance ops role and is compensated accordingly.

Who We Are Looking For The Ideal Candidate You are a finance professional with genuine depth across two worlds: the operational mechanics of a regulated brokerage (fund flows, reconciliation, settlements) and the analytical rigour of capital markets and banking (financial modelling, credit assessment, structured documentation). You can sit with operations teams in the morning and talk to a bank relationship manager in the afternoon — and be credible in both rooms. This is not a role for someone who has done only one of these things well.

We need someone who can build a working financial model, package it into a credit note that a bank will take seriously, follow up professionally, and then come back and reconcile the day's client ledgers. Breadth with depth.

Target

Profile CFA Level 1 or Level 2 candidates — your financial statement analysis, fixed income, and equity valuation training maps directly onto the modelling and credit assessment work in this role

CA (qualified or articleship-stage) with exposure to credit, banking, or capital markets clients — you understand financial statements at a structural level, not just an accounting level

MBA (Finance) graduates from strong programmes with internship or work experience in banking, NBFC, investment banking, or capital markets operations

Professionals from bank credit teams, NBFC underwriting, or working capital finance who want to move into a capital markets environment

Finance professionals currently in brokerage or fintech operations who have self-developed capital markets knowledge and can demonstrate it through CFA progress or independent project work About The Role Stellaredge operates at the intersection of capital markets and financial services infrastructure. As the firm grows, it needs banking relationships, credit facilities, and structured financing to be managed with the same rigour it applies to operations. This role sits at the centre of that — bridging brokerage finance operations with the capital markets and banking functions the firm increasingly requires.

Pillar 1 — Brokerage Finance Operations Manage daily bank reconciliation across all client and company accounts with full traceability

Process and monitor T+1 payout obligations accurately and within SEBI-mandated timelines

Handle client fund queries, ledger discrepancies, billing issues, and payment gateway reconciliation

Build and maintain reconciliation trackers, exception logs, and escalation protocols

Maintain financial records to the standard required for SEBI audit, inspection, and statutory filings

Monitor daily cash positions across accounts and flag liquidity or timing risks proactively Pillar 2 — Capital Markets & Banking Knowledge Maintain a working understanding of equity, derivatives, and debt market operations as they relate to brokerage fund flows

Understand margin obligations, collateral management, and the financial mechanics of T+1 settlement

Track and analyse capital markets developments relevant to Stellaredge's business — rate cycles, credit market conditions, liquidity environment

Support treasury decisions: short-term fund deployment, overdraft utilisation, and bank facility optimisation

Monitor bank account structures, interest accruals, and facility utilisation across lenders

Liaise with clearing corporations on margin requirements, exposure limits, and financial reporting Pillar 3 — Financial Modelling Build and maintain financial models for internal planning: P&L; projections, cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity tables

Develop models to support credit applications: working capital requirement estimation, DSCR, and debt serviceability analysis

Create financial projections for bank presentations — structured, assumption-driven,

and auditable

Maintain a live financial dashboard that tracks actuals vs. projections across key metrics

Build ad-hoc models when required: branch expansion, new product unit economics, brokerage revenue modelling

Ensure all models have clearly documented assumptions, version control, and are accessible to non-finance stakeholders Pillar 4 — Credit Assessment & Bank Communication Prepare credit assessment documentation for working capital, overdraft, and term loan facilities: Information Memorandums, CMA data, financial statements packages, and business overviews

Write structured credit notes and facility request letters that clearly articulate the business case, financial strength, and repayment logic — in language that bank credit committees understand

Coordinate the end-to-end bank documentation process: KYC, audited financials, projections, collateral documents, board resolutions, and regulatory certifications

Build and maintain relationships with bank relationship managers and credit officers across multiple lenders

Track credit facility renewal timelines, covenant compliance, and bank reporting obligations

Follow up on facility applications professionally and persistently — without being unproductive

Prepare responses to bank credit queries and due diligence requests with accuracy and speed

Maintain a structured lender database: facility terms, contact persons, renewal dates, and outstanding obligations Skills & Requirements Financial & Technical Skills Financial modelling: 3-statement models, DCF, working capital models, DSCR — built from scratch in Excel

Credit documentation: CMA data preparation, Information Memorandums, project reports, bank presentations

Advanced Excel: dynamic named ranges, scenario manager, data tables, Power Query basics

Capital markets fundamentals: equity, derivatives, fixed income — at least CFA Level 1 depth

Understanding of bank credit processes: working capital assessment, term loan underwriting, collateral valuation

Brokerage operations: T+1 settlement, SEBI margin rules, client fund segregation

Financial statement analysis: can read a P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow statement and derive credit implications Communication & Professional Skills Bank communication: skilled, structured, and persistent — can write a compelling credit request letter independently

Written English at a high standard — all bank correspondence, credit notes, and documentation are your responsibility

Stakeholder management: comfortable dealing with senior bank officials, internal leadership, and auditors

Presentation skills: can walk a banker through a financial model and business case clearly and confidently

Documentation discipline: every model, every correspondence, every commitment is tracked and filed

Organised under pressure: can manage bank deadlines, facility renewals, and daily ops simultaneously Education & Qualifications CFA Level 1 cleared or actively pursuing — the most relevant qualification for the capital markets and modelling depth required

CA (qualified or articleship complete) — particularly if exposed to credit, banking, or capital markets clients

MBA (Finance) from a recognised programme with demonstrable capital markets or banking exposure

B.Com / M.Com with additional qualifications (CFA, CMA, NISM) and proven work experience in banking or capital markets

NISM certifications are a positive signal but not a substitute for capital markets depth What We Evaluate Strong Signals Can build a 3-statement financial model from scratch without a template — and explain every assumption

Has prepared or contributed to a real credit application or Information Memorandum — not just seen one

Has communicated with bank relationship managers or credit officers independently — not just been in the room

Understands the difference between a working capital assessment and a term loan proposal in terms of structure and metrics

Can explain T+1 settlement mechanics AND a DSCR calculation in the same interview without missing a beat

CFA progress reflects genuine learning — can apply it practically, not just recall definitions

Written communication sample is clear, structured, and professional — no hedging, no jargon for its own sake Red Flags Has built models only from pre-built templates — cannot explain the underlying logic or rebuild from a blank sheet

Has 'helped with' documentation but cannot describe what they personally wrote or owned

Bank communication experience is limited to email follow-ups — no independent drafting of credit notes or proposals

CFA in progress but cannot apply it beyond textbook definitions — no connection to real financial situations

Treats reconciliation as below their 'level' — this role requires both ends, every day

Strong on capital markets theory but has never worked inside an operational finance environment

Communication is vague or overly formal in a way that obscures rather than conveys — bankers need clarity Why Join Stellaredge Finance professionals with capital markets knowledge in Surat typically end up in either a CA firm doing audits, a bank doing credit assessment, or a corporate treasury doing routine work. Very few get the combination of all three — operational finance, capital markets exposure, modelling work, and active bank relationship management — inside a single early-stage role. At Stellaredge, this is what the role is, from the start.

You will be building the financial infrastructure of the firm — not maintaining someone else's. Your models will be used for real decisions. Your credit notes will go to real banks. Your work will be visible, consequential, and yours.

What This Role Offers

Genuine exposure to brokerage finance operations — T+1, SEBI margins, client fund management

Capital markets knowledge applied in practice — not just in exams

Ownership of real financial models used for actual business decisions and bank submissions

Direct bank relationship management — you represent Stellaredge to lenders

Fast track to a Finance Manager or CFO-adjacent role as the firm scales

CFA exam support — study time, material, and exam fee contribution for strong performers Be Honest Before Applying Compensation is strong for Surat but below what a bank or large NBFC would pay at the same qualification level

This is a broad role in year one — you will do reconciliation and financial modelling in the same week

Early-stage environment — no large finance team, no established process; you build what does not yet exist

Bank communication requires confidence and persistence; if you are uncomfortable dealing with senior bankers, this will be hard Interview Process The process tests all four pillars of the role. Generic interview answers will not work here — we need demonstrated capability, specifically in modelling and credit documentation. Round 1 — Async written screening: three questions covering (a) a fund flow / reconciliation scenario, (b) how you would approach building a working capital model for a brokerage, and (c) describe a credit document you have prepared — what was the facility, what did the document contain, and what happened (48-hr turnaround)

Round 2 — 45-min interview with Finance Lead or Founder: deep-dive on capital markets knowledge, past modelling work, and bank communication experience — bring a sample model or document if you have one

Round 3 — Practical take-home exercise (3 days): build a working capital model for a sample brokerage and draft a two-page credit facility request letter to a bank based on it

Round 4 — 20-min final conversation with Founder: alignment, values, long-term intent
