Role Description The Fetal Medicine Consultant – JP Nagar will provide comprehensive fetal-maternal care, including performing advanced fetal ultrasounds, interpreting diagnostic findings, and managing complex and high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with obstetric teams. This full time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves conducting outpatient consultations, reviewing clinical histories, planning individualized care pathways, and ensuring timely follow-up for patients.

The consultant will participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, coordinate care with referring physicians, and provide clear, empathetic counseling to expectant parents regarding fetal conditions, treatment options, and prognosis.



Daily responsibilities also include maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and supporting ongoing patient education. The role may involve mentoring junior clinicians and sonographers, participating in clinical training activities, and staying updated with current guidelines in fetal medicine.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Medicine with formal training in obstetrics and gynecology or fetal medicine, and proven experience in prenatal and fetal care.
- Clinical exposure or familiarity with Cardiology as it relates to fetal cardiac assessment and management of fetal cardiac anomalies.
- Experience working with physicians in multidisciplinary teams, including gynecologists, neonatologists, and other specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Competence in Emergency Medicine principles for managing acute obstetric and fetal emergencies and stabilizing high-risk cases.
- Ability to provide Training and guidance to junior doctors, sonographers, and clinical staff in fetal medicine protocols and best practices.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications such as MD/MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology, DNB, or equivalent, with fellowship or specialized training in fetal medicine preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced fetal ultrasound techniques and use of modern imaging technology, with strong diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate approach to counseling patients and families, and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
