Role Description The Fertility Counsellor will provide emotional support, guidance, and information to individuals and couples undergoing fertility evaluation and treatment. In this full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, the counsellor will conduct initial and ongoing counselling sessions, explain treatment processes, help patients understand options, and assist in managing expectations and stress.
Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, coordinating with medical and nursing teams, supporting patients in decision-making, and facilitating group or educational sessions as needed.
The role also involves identifying when patients may need additional psychological support, providing appropriate referrals, and contributing to patient education materials and clinic initiatives to improve the overall patient experience.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in patient counselling, psychosocial support, and stress management, with the ability to work sensitively with individuals and couples.
- Effective communication and active listening skills, including clear explanation of medical information in understandable language.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and maintain skilled boundaries and confidentiality.
- Organizational skills for managing appointments, documentation, and follow-ups, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field; specialized training in fertility or reproductive health is an advantage.
- Experience in a fertility clinic, women’s health, or related healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comfort working in an on-site clinical environment in Hyderabad and supporting patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic medical record systems, or willingness to learn.
