Role Description The Fashion Specialist will work on-site full time at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology’s location in Prayagraj, collaborating with academic and administrative teams to integrate fashion-forward perspectives into handloom and textile programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and presenting fashion concepts aligned with handloom traditions, supporting design projects, and advising on styling approaches for exhibitions, events,



and student portfolios. The role involves coordinating with faculty to refine curriculum elements related to fashion and design, assisting in market-oriented trend analysis, and contributing to outreach activities that promote handloom-based fashion.

The Fashion

Specialist will also support industry collaborations, help prepare visual materials, and ensure that fashion initiatives reflect both contemporary trends and the institute’s heritage.

Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Fashion, Fashion Design, and Fashion Styling.

Candidates should possess relevant skills in Sales and Marketing to support promotion of handloom-based fashion initiatives.

Knowledge of textile and handloom traditions, including fabric types, weaving techniques, and sustainable fashion practices.

Ability to translate fashion trends into practical projects, collections, and educational materials for learners.

Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills for working with faculty, students, and external partners.

Preferred: Formal education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Production, or a related field; prior experience in fashion or textile industry is an advantage.
