Meyakara is an emerging premium fashion label creating contemporary menswear and womenswear through distinctive silhouettes, thoughtful fabric choices and strong construction. We are looking for a Fashion Designer who can work closely with the founder and contribute throughout the design-development process—from initial concepts to final garment samples. Role Responsibilities:

Research silhouettes, fabrics, colours, construction techniques and relevant design references.

Develop mood boards, sketches and original design concepts for menswear and womenswear.

Translate collection themes and brand direction into wearable garments.

Explore silhouettes through draping, mock-ups and fabric trials.

Source suitable fabrics, trims and other garment materials.

Communicate designs and construction details clearly to tailors and pattern makers.

Coordinate sampling, fittings and garment corrections.

Improve garments based on fit, proportion, drape, construction and finishing.

Work with vendors, tailors and production partners when required.

Maintain organised records of designs, fabrics, measurements and sample changes.

Support collection styling, shoots and other design-related creative work.

Take ownership of assigned designs and complete them within agreed timelines.





Skills and Requirements

Degree, diploma or relevant training in Fashion Design.

Good understanding of fabrics, silhouettes, garment construction and finishing.

Practical knowledge of draping, sampling and fittings.

Ability to create clear fashion sketches or technical design references.

Ability to communicate effectively with tailors and pattern makers.

Robust attention to detail, proportion, fit and garment quality.

Ability to research independently and develop original design ideas.

Comfortable working hands-on in a small and growing fashion team.

Willing to travel locally for sourcing, sampling and vendor coordination when needed.

Preferred

Experience

Experience with a fashion label, design studio, export house or sampling unit.

Experience developing menswear, womenswear or both.

Familiarity with Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW or similar design tools.

Knowledge of Delhi fabric markets, vendors, tailors or sampling units.
