Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser Company: Toplove Kids Couture Location: Kolkata About Us Toplove is a premium kidswear brand specializing in luxury partywear, occasion wear, and custom-designed outfits for children. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and proactive Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser who can manage the complete product development cycle—from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities - Research market trends, competitor collections, and forecast upcoming fashion trends for kidswear.

- Design seasonal collections and custom outfits aligned with the Toplove brand aesthetic.
- Create mood boards, sketches, technical drawings, tech packs, and design specifications.
- Develop patterns and coordinate with the design team for sample development.
- Source fabrics, trims, embellishments, embroidery materials, and accessories.
- Create embroidery layouts (khaka designs) and supervise hand embroidery artisans to ensure design accuracy and quality.
- Coordinate with master tailors, sampling units, vendors, and production teams to ensure timely execution.
- Oversee the complete product development process from order confirmation through production, quality checks, and dispatch.
- Follow up on costing, sampling approvals, production timelines,



and vendor management.
- Ensure garments meet Toplove's quality, fit, and finishing standards.
- Maintain product development records, merchandising documentation, and inventory planning.
- Assist in photoshoots, product styling, and basic photography whenever required.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, especially for custom orders, and convert design discussions into successful sales.
- Build robust relationships with clients by understanding their requirements and providing creative design solutions.

Requirements - Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.

- 5 years of experience in fashion design and merchandising (kidswear experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, fabrics, embroidery techniques, and trims.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and MS Office.
- Good understanding of production planning, merchandising, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent communication, client-handling, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
