Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on professional to lead the operations of our state-of-the-art Fab Lab. The role involves managing advanced fabrication equipment, driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, supporting innovation, and creating a world-class maker ecosystem for students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Fab Lab across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, AI/ML, Computer Science and allied disciplines.
- Manage maintenance, calibration, inventory, and preventive upkeep of all Fab Lab equipment.
- Oversee procurement, vendor management, AMC coordination, and spare parts planning.
- Ensure laboratory safety, statutory compliance, SOP implementation, and periodic safety audits.
- Supervise and train Lab Engineers, Technicians, and Lab Assistants.
- Support students and faculty in prototyping, product development, innovation, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Prepare operational reports, budgets,



utilization reports, and maintenance documentation.
- Build a process-driven, well-organized, and future-ready Fab Lab ecosystem.

Ideal Profile

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Diploma with relevant experience may also be considered).

57+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, technical facilities, Fab Labs, makerspaces, R&D; labs, or educational institutions.

Solid exposure to CNC machines, 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Welding Equipment, Electrical Machines, or similar fabrication technologies.

Experience in inventory management, vendor coordination, preventive maintenance, and team leadership.

Working knowledge of CAD / 3D Modeling tools and Microsoft Office will be an added advantage.
