Job Title: Mainframe Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Mainframe technologies and be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting critical business applications. The role requires hands-on experience in application development, maintenance, and production support within a Mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and support programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Perform impact analysis, code reviews, and unit testing.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and organizational guidelines.
- Participate in application enhancements, migrations, and modernization initiatives.




- Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing activities.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
- Experience in Mainframe application development and maintenance.
- Good understanding of batch processing and online transaction processing systems.
- Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile development practices.
- Experience with source code management and deployment processes.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other enterprise domains is preferred.
- Exposure to Mainframe modernization projects will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 5 to 10 years of experience in Mainframe Development.
