API QA JD:

- Minimum 5+ years of QA experience in enterprise-level environments
- Strong expertise in test planning, execution, and defect management.*
- Proficiency in functional, integration, and regression testing.*
- Automation-first mindset ability to identify repeatable patterns and proactively implement automation solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with a questioning attitude – must challenge assumptions and raise flags when outcomes deviate from expectations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Skill sets.

- Design, develop, and execute test cases for REST/SOAP APIs.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like:
- Postman, SOAP UI, Swagger, REST Assured, Karate, JMeter (for API performance)
- Validate REST/SOAP API responses using Assertions for payloads, status codes, headers, and schema structures.
- Build and manage Postman/API collections to support automated and manual test workflows.
- Positive knowledge of JSON, XML, XPath, XSD,



and schemas.
- Performfunctional, integration, regression, and performance testingof APIs.
- Knowledge of SQL and ability to validate backend data.
- Create and maintain API automation scriptsusing industrystandard tools.
- Work closely with developers, BAs, and DevOps teams to understand requirements and ensure quality delivery.
- Analyze Splunk logs, troubleshoot issues, and participate in defect triage discussions.
- Validate API-level security, authentication, and authorization (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
- Ensure data consistency across databases, microservices, and backend layers.
- Contribute to CI/CD integration of API automation suites.
- Prepare test reports, metrics, and documentation.
- Familiarity with API automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Maven/Gradle).
- Experience working withCI/CD pipelines(Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
