Job Title: ER Technician

Department: Emergency Medicine

Location: SMV Super Speciality Hospital, Puducherry

Reports To: ER Medical Officer / Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary:

The ER Technician provides critical support to the emergency medical team by assisting in patient assessment, stabilization, and treatment procedures, ensuring quick and efficient response during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist doctors and nurses during emergency procedures, examinations, and resuscitation (CPR)
- Prepare and maintain emergency equipment, trolleys, and supplies for immediate use
- Take and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2) of incoming patients
- Assist in wound dressing, splinting, suturing support, and minor procedures
- Operate and monitor equipment such as ECG, defibrillator, nebulizer, and oxygen delivery systems
- Assist in shifting and positioning patients safely, including stretcher and wheelchair transfers
- Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and readiness of the ER at all times
- Ensure proper documentation of patient details, treatment given, and handover notes




- Coordinate with lab, radiology, and other departments for urgent tests and reports
- Respond promptly to emergency codes and support the medical team during critical situations
- Follow infection control protocols and biomedical waste management procedures

Qualifications:

- Diploma / Certificate in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) or equivalent paramedical course
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred

Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room / Casualty setting

Skills Required:

- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Quick decision-making and hands-on clinical skills
- Good teamwork and communication with doctors/nurses
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights
- Physical stamina to assist with patient handling and emergencies

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
