We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead our global data engineering team from our Pune-based GCC. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on building scalable data platforms using modern technologies like Databricks, Python, and big data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a distributed team of 8+ data engineers across geographies
- Architect and oversee development of robust, scalable data pipelines and platforms
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product, Data Science, and Business Analytics
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of data systems
- Drive best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and documentation
- Mentor and coach engineers for technical growth and career development
- Manage sprint planning, delivery timelines, and stakeholder communication
- Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in software/data engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing engineering teams of 8+ members




- Proven experience working with global or GCC-based development teams

- Strong expertise in

- Databricks and Apache Spark

- Python for data workflows
- Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Delta Lake, Kafka)
- Solid understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data environments
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Certifications in cloud or data engineering platforms
