Epiq is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead AI Agents & Accelerators for complex legal workflows. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with team development, product delivery, and responsible AI governance.

Experience

- 3 years of people management experience leading software engineering teams

- Strong background in software engineering with scalable, production-grade applications and platforms

- Experience delivering customer-facing products where performance, reliability, accuracy, and user trust are critical

- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems, data processing platforms, batch workloads, or event-driven architectures

- Strong understanding of modern web and cloud technologies

- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and distributed teams

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in a global environment

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

- Equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

- Lead a high-performing engineering team building AI-powered solutions for legal professionals

- Oversee AI Agents and AI Accelerators product areas

- Lead end-to-end development of AI agent capabilities

- Drive delivery of AI accelerators from concept through production deployment

- Partner with Product Management, Legal Domain Experts, Review Operations, and Engineering stakeholders

- Establish and maintain robust evaluation frameworks and quality standards

- Define metrics and processes for accuracy, grounding, citation quality, relevance, and reliability

- Implement testing and regression strategies before release

- Define operational guardrails and decision boundaries for AI-enabled workflows

- Establish escalation and human-in-the-loop processes for human review or approval

- Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, legal, and responsible AI requirements

- Optimize performance across real-time and batch-processing workloads

- Drive architectural decisions for model routing, retrieval strategies, inference optimization,



caching, batching, and cost management

- Balance latency, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency at scale

- Provide guidance on architecture, design patterns, engineering best practices, and technology strategy

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical planning, and operational readiness activities

- Partner with global engineering leaders to drive consistency and innovation

- Hire, mentor, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary team of software, data, and AI engineers

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence

- Support career development, technical growth, and high-performance execution across the team

- Experience in Generative AI, Large Language Models, and Agentic AI systems

- Experience in Retrieval-Augmented Generation, vector databases, search technologies, and information retrieval

- Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, MCP, or equivalent technologies

- Experience with AI evaluation methodologies, model benchmarking, hallucination detection, and quality measurement

- Experience with fine-tuning,



model optimization, inference strategies, and model lifecycle management

- Experience with enterprise-scale AI applications supporting knowledge-intensive workflows

- Experience with legal technology, eDiscovery, compliance, investigations, or document review processes
