Position: Engineer / Senior Engineer Electrical Maintenance

Role Purpose:

The selected professional will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of electrical systems, utilities, machinery and plant equipment through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The role requires a hands-on electrical professional capable of independently attending plant breakdowns, maintaining statutory records, coordinating with production and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day electrical maintenance activities across the plant and utilities.
2. Attend electrical breakdowns promptly and restore equipment with minimum production loss.
3. Prepare and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
4. Maintain motors, control panels, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, starters, relays and electrical distribution systems.
5. Troubleshoot electrical faults in production machinery, conveyors, mixers, extruders, compressors and material-handling equipment.
6. Maintain transformers, DG sets, LT panels, APFC panels, UPS systems, batteries and earthing systems.
7. Inspect and maintain plant wiring, cables, lighting systems, power sockets and electrical installations.
8. Monitor electrical load, power factor, energy consumption and demand to improve energy efficiency.
9. Conduct routine testing of motors, insulation resistance, earthing resistance and electrical protection systems.
10. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of VFDs, PLC-connected electrical systems and automation equipment.
11. Coordinate with Production, Mechanical Maintenance, Projects, HSE and Quality teams for uninterrupted operations.

Maintain critical electrical spares and raise timely purchase requirements to avoid equipment downtime.
13. Supervise electricians, technicians, contractors and external service providers during maintenance activities.
14. Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements and permit-to-work systems.
15. Conduct periodic inspection of electrical panels and eliminate loose connections, overheating and unsafe conditions.
16. Maintain preventive-maintenance records, breakdown reports, equipment history cards, checklists and daily MIS.
17. Perform root-cause analysis of recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
18. Support the installation, testing and commissioning of new machinery, panels, cables and electrical projects.
19. Ensure compliance with applicable electrical rules, statutory inspections, safety standards and audit requirements.
20. Participate in emergency preparedness, fire-safety drills, electrical-safety training and continuous-improvement projects.

Plant-Specific Exposure Preferred:

Candidates should preferably have exposure to:

- Polymer-compounding or masterbatch machinery
- Extruders and mixers
- Pelletisers and feeders
- Chillers and cooling systems
- Compressors and pneumatic systems
- Material-handling equipment
- Temperature-control and automation systems
- VFD and PLC-based production machinery

Ramming Mass Plant – Gidani Candidates should preferably have exposure to:

- Crushers and grinding equipment
- Ball mills or pulverisers
- Vibro screens
- Conveyors and bucket elevators
- Dust-collection systems
- Packing machines
- Material-feeding systems
- Heavy-duty motors and electrical panels

Educational Qualification:

Preferred:

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Note: Candidates with ITI Electrician plus strong industrial maintenance experience may also be considered for the appropriate level. A valid Electrical Supervisor License or Wireman License will be an added advantage.
