Job Summary The Engineer – Maintenance (HOD) is responsible for leading the Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of all resort facilities, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, cost optimization, statutory compliance, energy conservation, and delivering an exceptional guest experience by maintaining the property to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Department Leadership
Lead and manage the Engineering & Maintenance Department. Plan, allocate, and supervise daily engineering activities. Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate departmental team members. Develop duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower availability. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment. Ensure timely rectification of breakdowns with minimum operational disruption. Monitor maintenance records and equipment history. Conduct regular inspections of all guest and back-of-house areas. Utilities & Plant Operations
Oversee the operation and maintenance of: Electrical systems (HT/LT panels, DG sets) HVAC systems Plumbing and water supply systems STP/WTP Swimming pool equipment Boilers, pumps, motors, compressors Kitchen and laundry equipment Elevators (where applicable) Project & Renovation Management
Plan and execute renovation and refurbishment projects. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors. Monitor project timelines, quality, and budgets. Ensure minimal disruption to resort operations during projects. Safety & Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory regulations. Maintain records of statutory inspections and certifications. Coordinate fire safety audits and emergency preparedness. Ensure safe work practices and adherence to PPE requirements.
Energy
Management
Implement energy conservation initiatives. Monitor electricity, diesel, LPG, and water consumption. Identify opportunities for cost reduction through effective utility management. Prepare monthly utility consumption reports. Vendor & AMC Management
Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs). Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate service contracts. Ensure timely servicing by external agencies. Verify invoices and maintain service records. Budget & Cost Control
Prepare annual engineering budgets. Monitor departmental expenditure. Control repair and maintenance costs. Ensure optimum inventory levels for engineering stores and spare parts.
Guest
Experience
Ensure prompt resolution of guest maintenance complaints. Maintain guest rooms and public areas in excellent condition. Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office for room readiness. Coordination
Work closely with: Housekeeping Front Office Food & Beverage Security Finance Purchase Support resort operations during events and peak occupancy periods.

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Additional certifications in HVAC, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, or Energy Management are desirable. Experience
8–12 years of engineering and maintenance experience in the hospitality industry. Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or departmental leadership role.
Experience in resorts, luxury hotels, wellness retreats, or premium hospitality properties is preferred
