Role Description

Own the WordPress Platform

- Serve as the primary WordPress engineering lead and SME for ACX.
- Maintain the custom theme, plugins, must-use plugins, post types, taxonomies, ACF models, templates, and integrations.
- Independently diagnose and resolve production defects.
- Support migration stabilization, releases, production validation, rollback, incident response, and root-cause analysis.

Build and Extend the Platform

- Develop secure, maintainable WordPress functionality using PHP and established engineering standards.
- Maintain REST APIs, external integrations, and document-ingestion workflows.
- Support Okta/OIDC authentication, authorization, and content-access rules.
- Maintain PDF and media workflows involving attachments,



metadata, classification, and content relationships.
- Support future enhancements and integrations, including Advisor Dashboard experiences.

Improve Operational Readiness

- Strengthen automated testing, deployment validation, logging, monitoring, documentation, and runbooks.
- Partner with DevOps on Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, environment configuration, caching, persistent storage, and scheduled processing.
- Evaluate third-party plugins for security, compatibility, licensing, maintainability, and upgrade risk.
- Keep technical documentation aligned with the deployed implementation.
- Transfer knowledge to AssetMark engineers and reduce vendor dependency.

Support the Sitecore Transition and .NET Integrations

- Support remaining Sitecore defects, dependencies, and decommissioning activities.
- Understand and maintain C#/.NET jobs and services connecting Sitecore, APIs, document workflows, and WordPress.
- Move legacy capabilities into supported WordPress or Azure-based solutions.
- Support Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines, environment promotion, configuration, and deployment troubleshooting.

Technical Skills

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on PHP and custom WordPress engineering experience.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade WordPress plugins and themes.

Deep understanding of

- WordPress hooks and filters
- Custom post types and taxonomies
- ACF and structured content models
- Gutenberg and WordPress templates
- WordPress REST APIs
- Roles, capabilities, and authorization
- Media Library, attachments, metadata, and file handling
- WordPress MySQL tables and relationships





Experience integrating WordPress with authenticated external APIs.

Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, or comparable identity solutions.

Strong production-debugging skills across PHP, WordPress, MySQL, APIs, caching, filesystems, and runtime configuration.

Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.

Experience supporting WordPress in Docker or another containerized environment.

Strong secure-development practices, including validation, sanitization, escaping, capability checks, secret handling, and secure file access.

Working proficiency in C# and .NET Core or ASP.NET Core.

Experience supporting REST APIs, background jobs, scheduled processing, or system integrations in C#.

Hands-on Azure DevOps experience, including repositories, pipelines, setting promotion, secure configuration, and deployment troubleshooting.

Ability to independently own technical work and clearly communicate risks, blockers, assumptions, and next steps.

- Sitecore XP, SXA, Solr, or enterprise CMS migration experience.
- Experience decommissioning legacy CMS or .NET platforms while maintaining business continuity.
- Experience supporting financial-services or other regulated platforms.
- Experience with protected-document libraries and entitlement-based content.
