Job Summary
Senior Finance Associate, G-7, Fixed Term Position. Duty Station: New Delhi. Location: India. Contract type: Fixed Term Appointment. Level: G-7. Categories: Financial Management.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily banking transactions for donations received and ensure compliance with established procedures and norms. Verifies the various reports received from the banks and processing agencies for direct credits, cash deposits on daily basis and coordinate with the transaction in-house donation processing team (for proper recording of donation, timely processing of batches and registering the same in VISION). Preparation of monthly analysis of Bank GL, manual clearing entries of bank reconciliation statement (BRS) for submission to GSSC as per monthly closure schedule. Follow up on reconciling items appearing in the BRS for timely clearance.
- Deposits of all refunds and recoveries of India Country Office and field offices as per the timelines. Follow up for unidentified deposit and timely action for clearance.
- Management of Revenue and Receivables in compliance with UNICEF's policy. Generate and analyze VISION and Insight reports on overdue receivables and unapplied receipts and follow up with sections in Delhi/Field Offices on the same.
- Review grant creation/amendment requests and applicable supporting documents (donor agreements/MOUs) for adequacy, accuracy and completeness and submit the request to service gateway GSSC for processing.
- Support country offices to ensure receipts for Common Services are correctly recorded in the Unapplied Contributions Receipts GL.6. in compliance with UNICEF's policies.
- Share information relating to update Banking regulations,
accounting policies and procedure with the PSFR Team (Individual giving & Corporate Team) to ensure adequate internal control. Follow up with the Bank and Agencies for timely receipt of MIS. Analysis of monthly MIS and inform Finance Manager and PSFR Manager for immediate action in case of deviation.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly and yearly financial closing for the unit. Preparation of monthly contribution report to be submitted to DFAM Contribution unit. Coordination with DFAM unit & RM team for the required details on the agreement for issuance of new Grant. Address queries from PPD/ GSSC/ country offices and other internal stakeholders on matters related to Grants Management in compliance with UNICEF's policies.
- Support in Preparation of Quarterly Financial Report, Revenue Expenditure Report. Detailed monthly reconciliation process between Salesforce and VISION. Verifies data, answers queries and obtains additional information on accounts and financial transactions, as required.
- Focal point for Cash Management System with the bank. Liaison with officials of local banks to follow up on the outstanding deposits not credited by the bank and reversal of charges. Coordinates with the bank for implementation of recent products available with the bank for acceptance of donations. Responsible for all matters pertaining to maintenance of office bank accounts.
- Provide support to supervisor and the rest of the team with reports and schedules both on regular and ad hoc basis. Back-up of Finance Officer/ Senior Finance Associate/Assistant in the Unit and perform other assignments as required by supervisor.
Minimum requirements
1. Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
2. Work Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience in Finance and Accounting is required. A Bachelor's degree from a recognized academic institution in a relevant field may replace 3 years of related work experience. A Master's degree may replace an additional 2 years.
3. Skills: Project Management, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Digital Dexterity, Stakeholder Engagement, Innovative Adaptability.
4. Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
Desirables
1. Education: Professional/university level courses in Accounting and Finance/Business administration are considered as an asset.
2. Work Experience: Experience of financial transactions relating to Fund raising activities would be considered as an asset.
3. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
