Role Description This full-time Emergency Department Medical Coding role is a hybrid position based in the Mohali district, with a combination of in office work and some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves reviewing emergency department clinical documentation, assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring compliance with current coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Daily responsibilities include validating medical necessity, supporting clean claim submission,



and collaborating with billing and revenue cycle teams to minimize denials and optimize reimbursement. The specialist will also help identify documentation improvement opportunities, maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, and contribute to consistent, high-quality coding practices that support financial wellness for client organizations.

Qualifications

- Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills, with a focus on emergency department services.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management principles.
- Relevant credentials such as RHIT or similar coding and health information certifications.
- Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines and payer-specific rules.
- Experience working within revenue cycle processes, including claims review and denial resolution.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly with clinical and non-clinical teams, and manage time efficiently.
- Prior experience in emergency department or acute care coding is preferred.
