We are currently seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Specialist – Operational Readiness to join our team.
This is a three-year maximum term full-time position. Your work location is Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city. Reporting to the Manager Fixed Plant Maintenance, ensuring the electrical/instrumentation equipment of the new processing plant is fully prepared for an efficient transition from construction to live operations in a manner consistent with the Company’s Vison and Values.
The prospect Developing operational procedures, training staff, managing maintenance systems, and mitigating risks to ensure operational performance from day one. Defining operating philosophies, maintenance strategies, and safety protocols to ensure compliance to relevant Australian Standards and Regulations
Inputting asset information into systems to establish maintenance schedules and spare parts strategies.
Assisting in the development of training modules, manage training delivery for electrical/instrumentation and operations team, and ensure technical staff are competent.
Coordinating with project teams during commissioning to ensure a smooth handover to the operational team. Scheduling and coordinate the operational team’s involvement in pre-operational verification, site acceptance testing, and system integration testing.
Coordinating vendor training schedules and onsite support scheduling. Tracking the progress and timeline for updating and transferring operations and maintenance manuals, standard operating procedures, and system drawings.
Regularly report on the status of readiness activities to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Continuously identify and document residual risks that could impact the startup, addressing them in the project schedule.

We would love to hear from you if you have : Electrical engineering degree (Registered) or Trade Certificate.
Extensive relevant experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of Scada and Citect PLC.
Experience in electrical systems, power distribution, control circuits, transformers, scale calibrations and programmable logic controllers.
A proven track record of continuous improvement in operations and maintenance.
Previous experience working within a gold mineral processing plant.
Strong communication skills, including communication with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Strong ability to work effectively in a team. Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks. High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals.
