Job Title: Assistant Manager – NPD & R&D; Location: Vadavucode, Ernakulam, Kerala Company: Ecospice Ingredients Private Limited Industry: Essential Oils, Oleoresins, Nutraceuticals, and Natural Extracts Experience: Minimum 5+ years Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager – NPD & R&D; to lead our New Product Development and Research initiatives at Ecospice Ingredients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the essential oils, oleoresins, nutraceuticals, or natural ingredients industry, and possess both technical expertise and team leadership capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, managing lab operations, and supporting product commercialization in line with market needs.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the NPD & R&D; team to develop new formulations and product innovations in line with company goals.

Design and execute lab trials, pilot batches,



and scale-up processes for essential oils, oleoresins, and nutraceutical products.

Coordinate cross-functionally with QC, Production, Marketing, and Regulatory teams for seamless NPD execution.

Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new products and technologies.

Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, FSSAI, and export regulatory requirements.

Develop SOPs, technical documentation, and product specifications.

Engage in sourcing trials, vendor evaluations, and ingredient functionality assessments.

Keep abreast of global trends and innovations in plant-based extracts and nutraceuticals.

Lead troubleshooting efforts and process optimizations in coordination with production and QA teams.

Provide technical support to sales and customer service teams for product presentations, documentation, and client queries.

Build and nurture a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence within the R&D; team.

Qualifications B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the essential oil, oleoresin, or nutraceuticals industry.

Strong understanding of extraction techniques, emulsification, solubility, and product stability.

Ability to lead technical teams and work under tight timelines.

Proficient in MS Office and technical report writing.
