POSITION | Director – Information Technology

Position Summary The Director – Information Technology will provide strategic leadership for the University's digital ecosystem, ensuring that technology serves as a key enabler of academic excellence, operational efficiency, research, innovation, and an exceptional learner experience.

The role is responsible for planning, implementing, securing, and continuously improving the University's IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, ERP, cybersecurity, cloud services, networking, classroom technologies, digital learning platforms, and emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence.

The Director will establish a technology roadmap aligned with the University's vision while ensuring high system availability, robust cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and technology-enabled transformation across all functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Strategy & Digital Transformation

- Develop and execute the University's IT and Digital Transformation Strategy.

- Align technology initiatives with institutional priorities and long-term growth.

- Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation projects.

- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, analytics, and cloud technologies.

- Establish technology governance frameworks and standards.

2. IT Infrastructure & Operations

- Ensure reliable operation of campus-wide IT infrastructure.

- Oversee data centres, servers, storage, cloud platforms, and backup systems.

- Manage wired and wireless campus networks.

- Ensure high availability of internet connectivity across academic,



residential, and administrative areas.

- Establish disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.

3. Enterprise Applications

- Lead implementation, enhancement, and support of the University's ERP ecosystem.

- Manage Student Information Systems (SIS), HRMS, Finance, CRM, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Library Systems, and collaboration platforms.

- Ensure seamless integration among institutional applications.

- Drive process automation through low-code/no-code platforms where appropriate.

4. Cybersecurity & Information Security

- Develop and implement the University's cybersecurity strategy.

- Establish policies for identity and access management, endpoint security, network security, and data protection.

- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and security audits.

- Manage incident response, threat monitoring, and cybersecurity awareness programs.

- Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and security regulations.

5. Academic Technology

- Support technology-enabled teaching, learning, and research.

- Manage smart classrooms, AV infrastructure, virtual learning platforms, and examination technologies.

- Partner with faculty to deploy cutting-edge educational technologies.

- Evaluate emerging tools that enhance learner engagement and outcomes.

6. Data Governance & Analytics

- Develop institutional data governance frameworks.

- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and accessibility.

- Build dashboards and analytics capabilities to support decision-making.

- Promote responsible use of institutional data and AI.

7. IT Service Management

- Establish service delivery standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

- Lead the IT Helpdesk and end-user support functions.

- Improve service quality through ITIL-aligned practices.





- Monitor user satisfaction and continuously enhance service delivery.

8. Vendor & Technology Partner Management

- Manage relationships with software vendors, OEMs, ISPs, cloud providers, and technology partners.

- Lead technology procurement, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance reviews.

- Ensure optimal utilization of IT investments.

9. Budget & Asset Management

- Develop and manage the annual IT budget.

- Optimize technology investments while maintaining service quality.

- Oversee IT asset lifecycle management.

- Plan technology refresh and capacity expansion.

10. Team Leadership

- Build and lead a high-performing IT organization.

- Mentor technical teams and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

- Encourage cross-functional collaboration with academic and administrative departments.

Experience

- 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology.

- Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role.

- Experience managing enterprise IT environments in universities, large educational institutions, healthcare, IT parks, or corporate organizations.

- Proven experience leading ERP implementation, cloud migration, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.

Preferred Certifications

- ITIL Foundation/Expert

- PMP or PRINCE2

- CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer

- Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certifications

- Cisco CCNP/CCIE (desirable)

- VMware or virtualisation certifications
