:

Position Title: Design engineer

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, AND INDICATIVE ACTIVITIES

Design: Design, development, and evaluation of new and existing products by using AutoCAD,

Solid Works 3D software to achieve error free design & documentation.

Review design specifications and requirements under direction, develop designs according to DFM/DFA including cost as a key design variable

Design documentation:

Develop bill of materials part list & bought out materials and costing analysis as required.

Quality check of drawing documentation.

Prepare GA/foundation drawings as per design layout.

Product support:

Provide blank drawings/fabrication drawings, CAD templates with developed blanks.

Support in resolving problems of products during manufacturing and final assembly.

Support in installation & commissioning drawing related queries.

Support in providing information about the product for customer queries, pre & post-sales support.

Troubleshoot product performance issues reported by sales and customer service teams.

Team support:

Update Team Lead with regular reporting of progress and status of the project.

Support team in drawing preparation, get them checked and approved.

Maintain folder structure / PDM

Issuance of set of the drawing-controlled copies/ bill of material to the concerned departments.

Acquire knowledge:

Advanced CAD tools, structural analysis, manufacturing process, product factory acceptance tests, product & application.

1. 3D modelling & assembly Drawing Preparation QC of Manufacturing Drawings-OTIFEF

Preparation GA & Foundation Drawing -OTIFEF
3. Engineering change requests from production shop -OTIFEF
4. Maintaining drawings documentation in PDM/Folder- Status Before Vs After
5. CAD tools & technical skill upgradation by self-learning/external training -Plan Vs actual

INTERNAL INTERFACE:

Keep own work place, printing area neat & clean. Follow 5S

Maintain a log book for drawing issuance

Help in hiring design engineers and training them

BKPT: Best knowledge and process transfer

Across the team Support to process, purchase, sales & marketing for technical documentation

EXTERNAL INTERFACE:

Support to production, purchase, quality & VD for drawing related queries

Design support for maintenance and broken-down parts drawing at production shop

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT

ESSENTIAL:

Works independently and with minimal supervision

Good communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office software

Extensive experience with Solid Works 3D

Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD

Knowledge of engineering materials

Engineering calculations

Aware of design tools and techniques

DESIRABLE:

Guide team members

Presentation skill

Good in excel sheet. Preparation of PPT

Robust attention to detail design

Material selection

Knowledge of strength of material

Tolerance stacks up analysis, GD&T;

BEHAVIOURAL REQUIREMENT

Availability to work beyond working hours & some nights for product testing, if required

Flexible schedule and ability to travel as needed, required (10-15 % travel) including weekends

Availability to travel internationally
