About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer to join our Data Center Innovation team within Qualcomm’s Engineering Group. This role focuses on designing and developing next-generation architectures for the Dragonfly platform, Qualcomm's advanced rack-scale Agentic AI platform.
As part of this team, you will contribute to reshaping compute efficiency and scalability for the AI era by working on cutting-edge SoC development, full-chip design, and high-speed serial IO protocols. Your expertise will directly impact the evolution of data center hardware solutions, enabling high-performance AI processing at scale.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or Computer Science Engineering, with 2 to 5 years of proven experience in SoC development and full-chip design. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience are also encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of design convergence cycles, IP management, and front-end planning is essential. Additionally, expertise in high-speed serial IO protocols, clock rate compensation FIFO, gearbox design, power gating, and low power modes are highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities In this role,
you will be responsible for managing and executing various phases of hardware design, including architecture, micro-architecture, verification, synthesis, and timing closure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-speed serial IO protocols and ensure seamless integration of IP dependencies.
Your tasks will include designing and implementing data path components such as clock rate compensation FIFO, gearboxes, and bypass controllers, while optimizing for power efficiency and performance. You will also review high-level test plans, coverage metrics, and ensure adherence to design specifications. Additionally, you will participate in design reviews, troubleshoot hardware issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
