Role Overview

We are looking for a Database Administrator – Db2 to join our Technology team. This role involves end-to-end administration of Db2 databases, with secondary responsibilities across other database technologies in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Db2 and experience managing high-availability database systems in a 24x7 production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Db2 Administration: Perform end-to-end Db2 database management including design, installation, schema management, performance tuning, backup & recovery, patching, and upgrades.

- Multi-DB Support: Provide support for Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL, NoSQL, and other open-source databases in AWS and Azure environments.

- Architecture & Design: Apply principles of database architecture, modeling, partitioning, normalization, and capacity planning.

- Automation & Scripting: Work with Linux OS and scripting languages (Shell, Perl) for automation and maintenance tasks.

- Tool Expertise: Utilize Db2 tools and features such as TSA, HADR, Db2 DPF, federation, and SQL replication.

- Advanced Capabilities:



Leverage ER Studio for data modeling, Spectrum Scale file system, and Infosphere replication server.

- Operational Excellence: Ensure high availability, clustering, and performance optimization in a 24x7 production workplace.

Experience & Skills Required

- Work Experience: 8+ years in Db2 database administration.

- Technology Known:
- Db2 (TSA, HADR, DPF, federation, replication)
- Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL, NoSQL
- AWS and Azure DBaaS
- Linux OS, Shell & Perl scripting
- ER Studio, Spectrum Scale, Infosphere replication server

- Behavioral Traits:

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. No mandatory certifications required.
