Type: Hourly Contract (Part-Time)

Compensation: $80/hour

About the Prospect

This opportunity is for experienced Data Engineers interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects focused on frontier AI coding models.

The role involves evaluating AI-generated data engineering implementations, assessing engineering quality, and applying real-world data engineering expertise to improve the performance of next-generation AI coding agents.

Responsibilities

- Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex data engineering tasks.
- Review AI-generated implementations involving ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, distributed data systems, and data infrastructure .
- Identify bugs, edge cases, scalability issues, performance bottlenecks, and failure modes.
- Compare outputs from multiple AI coding models and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
- Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic data engineering scenarios.
- Provide structured technical feedback to improve AI-generated data engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with technical reviewers to maintain consistent evaluation standards.

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, distributed data systems,



or large-scale data infrastructure .
- Strong proficiency in SQL , Python , and one or more modern data engineering technologies.
- Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kafka, dbt, Hadoop , or similar technologies.
- Regular experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI , or similar coding agents.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, pipeline design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated data engineering implementations and identify technical tradeoffs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience operating large-scale data platforms in production environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data engineering workflows .
- Experience reviewing production data pipelines or mentoring data engineers.
- Prior experience with AI model evaluation or code review projects.

Compensation

- Competitive compensation of $80/hour.
