Role Description As a Cyber Security Researcher – Academic intern, you will support ongoing research into emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive techniques in a remote, project-based setting. Day-to-day activities include collecting and analyzing threat intelligence, contributing to malware analysis and reverse engineering tasks under guidance, and assisting in the development and testing of secure application architectures. You will help prepare research reports, technical documentation, and educational content that align with the council’s Prevention, Education, Detection, and Rapid Response pillars.





This internship role offers exposure to real-world security challenges, collaboration with experienced researchers, and opportunities to present findings to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications

Strong foundation in Cybersecurity concepts and Security Research, with the ability to review and interpret technical literature and threat reports.

Skills in Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering, including familiarity with common tools, techniques, and methods for dissecting malicious code.

Understanding of Application Security principles, secure coding practices, and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a closely related field.

Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (such as Python, C/C++, or Java) and comfort with Linux-based environments.

Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to document findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with global research teams.

Relevant certifications or coursework (e.g., CEH, Security+, specialized malware or reverse engineering courses) are beneficial but not mandatory.
