About The Role As a CPU Software Architect at Qualcomm, you will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing high-performance, energy-efficient software for next-generation compute products. Your expertise will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of processor capabilities, ensuring that Qualcomm’s solutions meet the demanding performance and power efficiency standards required by modern devices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CPU, DSP, and compiler engineers, to enhance software stacks from conceptual design through post-silicon verification.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of computing technology by leveraging deep technical knowledge of CPU architecture, software optimization, and system performance analysis.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering, computer science, or related fields, complemented by extensive industry experience.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with at least four years of relevant work experience,
or a Master’s degree with three years, or a PhD with two years in software engineering or related disciplines. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python is essential, with a strong emphasis on software development, debugging, and performance analysis. Candidates with over ten years of experience in software engineering, particularly with expertise in Linux internals, device drivers, and computer architecture, will be highly competitive.
A deep understanding of operating system concepts and hardware-software interaction is also required.
Responsibilities Your core responsibilities will include leveraging your knowledge of CPU architecture to develop and optimize software that delivers high performance and low power consumption. You will run benchmarks and conduct critical pre- and post-silicon verification to ensure performance and energy efficiency targets are achieved. Analyzing software workloads to identify bottlenecks and resolve performance issues will be a key aspect of your role.
You will debug and address software performance challenges, working closely with CPU, DSP, and compiler teams to develop solutions aligned with performance requirements. Additionally, you will create detailed technical documentation, including test plans and project reports, to support ongoing development and verification efforts.
Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of Qualcomm’s compute products.
