Job Summary The Costing Executive will be responsible for preparing accurate product costing, customer quotations, and commercial offers for corrugated boxes and packaging solutions. The role requires close coordination with customers, Sales, PPC, Design, Production, Purchase, and Finance to ensure timely quotations, profitable pricing, and smooth order execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Handling

- Communicate with customers regarding new enquiries and RFQs.
- Understand customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and packaging needs.
- Coordinate with customers for missing technical details.
- Follow up with customers for quotation approval and commercial discussions.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships.

Product Costing
- Prepare costing for new products and repeat products.
- Calculate raw material cost (Paper GSM, Ply, Flute, BF, etc.).
- Calculate conversion cost, printing cost, die cost, labour cost, transportation, and overheads.
- Determine selling price while maintaining company profit margins.
- Update costing whenever paper prices or process costs change.

Quotation Management
- Prepare customer quotations and commercial offers.
- Maintain quotation records and revision history.
- Ensure quotations are released within the committed timeline.
- Coordinate with Sales for negotiation support.

Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with Design Department for box dimensions and specifications.
- Coordinate with PPC regarding production feasibility.
- Coordinate with Purchase for latest paper prices.
- Coordinate with Production for process costing.
- Coordinate with Finance for commercial terms and payment conditions.

Cost Analysis




- Compare estimated costing with actual production cost.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Analyze profitability of products and customers.
- Prepare monthly costing reports.

Documentation
- Maintain customer costing sheets.
- Maintain approved price lists.
- Update cost database.
- Maintain quotation register.
- Maintain customer-wise price history.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of costing and commercial calculations.
- Good knowledge of corrugated box manufacturing.
- Understanding of paper GSM, BF, Ply, Flute, and packaging specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Formulae).
- ERP knowledge will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification
- B.Com / BBA / MBA / BE / Diploma (Packaging, Mechanical, Production or related field)

Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in costing, quotations, commercial, or customer handling.
- Experience in the Corrugated Box / Packaging Industry is preferred.

- Prepare and submit quotations as per approved pricing policy.
- Coordinate with all internal departments for costing information.
