Consultant — Food, Agriculture and Nutrition Strategy Consulting Practice

About the Role The Consultant role is the foundational strategy consulting role within the Food, Agriculture & Nutrition practice. Consultants are expected to move beyond traditional research execution and develop into structured, hypothesis-led problem solvers capable of supporting high-value strategic engagements. Consultants are responsible for transforming complex information into explicit business insights, supporting strategic recommendations, and contributing to client deliverables that are commercially grounded, analytically rigorous, and decision-oriented.

This role requires the ability to operate within ambiguity, structure problems effectively, synthesize information into actionable insights, and communicate clearly to both internal leadership and client stakeholders. The Consultant role is not a pure research role. It is the entry point into strategy consulting capability development.

Responsibilities

- Strategic Problem Solving
- Support the structuring and decomposition of complex business problems
- Conduct targeted analysis aligned to strategic hypotheses
- Translate research and data into business implications and actionable insights
- Contribute to the development of strategic recommendations and decision frameworks
- Identify key drivers, risks, tradeoffs, and strategic implications within engagements
- Research & Analysis
- Execute high-quality primary and secondary research
- Develop market landscapes, competitive analyses, and industry assessments
- Analyze financial, operational, consumer, regulatory, and technology data




- Support business case development and strategic scenario analysis
- Build structured outputs that connect analysis to decision-making
- Synthesis & Communication
- Support development of executive-ready presentations and deliverables
- Apply answer-first communication principles
- Contribute to insight-led storylines and structured narratives
- Develop concise, commercially relevant slide content
- Present analysis clearly and defensibly within internal and client discussions
- Consulting Capability Development
- Develop consulting toolkit capabilities including:
- hypothesis-led thinking
- MECE problem structuring
- executive communication
- synthesis and storyline development
- business case thinking
- financial and commercial grounding
- Participate in ongoing consulting capability training and certification programs
- Apply learnings directly within live project work
- Team & Project Contribution
- Work collaboratively within pod-based engagement teams
- Manage workstreams and deliverables with increasing independence
- Contribute to internal problem solving and engagement planning
- Support quality control and consistency across project outputs
- Escalate risks, inconsistencies, and logic gaps proactively
