Position Summary The Data Integration Engineer - Consulting is responsible for consulting with HealthTrust members and internal teams to design, load, extract, validate, and optimize data integrations using Microsoft Fabric and related data platforms. This role focuses on enabling member-facing data movement patterns, ensuring reliable ingestion and extraction from Fabric, and delivering secure, performant, and scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making.

This position partners directly with members, product owners, architects, analysts, and engineering teams to understand source and target data requirements, translate business needs into technical integration patterns, and troubleshoot data issues across SQL Server, T-SQL, Fabric, and related tools.

Responsibilities Consult with members and internal stakeholders to gather data integration requirements, define extraction and loading patterns, and recommend practical implementation approaches using Microsoft Fabric. Design, develop, test, and support data loads, data extracts, transformations, and validation routines for member-facing integration needs.

Create and maintain SQL and T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, and data pipelines that support reliable data ingestion, extraction, and reconciliation. Work with Microsoft Fabric capabilities to move, transform, store, and expose data for downstream analytics, reporting, and operational use cases. Perform SQL Server and T-SQL performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing recommendations, execution plan review, and pipeline troubleshooting.

Analyze and resolve data quality, latency, performance, and integration issues across source systems, SQL Server environments, and Fabric workloads. Collaborate with data architects and engineering teams on integration design, data modeling considerations, security requirements, standards, and reusable patterns. Document integration requirements, data mappings, validation results, technical decisions, support procedures,

and member-specific implementation details.

Support production operations by monitoring integration jobs, responding to incidents, communicating status, and coordinating resolution with members and internal teams. Promote secure and governed data practices, including appropriate access controls, data handling, lineage awareness, and compliance with organizational policies. Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to the Code of Conduct, Mission, and Value Statement.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Relevant experience designing, developing, and supporting data integration solutions using SQL Server, T-SQL, ETL/ELT patterns, and modern data platforms.
- Experience working directly with customers, clients, members, or business stakeholders in a consulting, implementation, support, or solution delivery capacity.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud data platforms is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare, supply chain, GPO, analytics, or member-facing data integration experience is preferred.

Must Have Skills

- Strong SQL and T-SQL development skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, functions, joins, aggregations, and data validation logic.
- SQL Server experience, including database design fundamentals, data loading and extraction approaches, indexing concepts, and operational support.
- Performance tuning experience, including troubleshooting slow queries, reviewing execution plans, optimizing T-SQL, and identifying bottlenecks in data workflows.
- Microsoft Fabric experience, including working with Fabric data workloads and understanding how data is loaded, stored, transformed, and extracted for member use cases.

- Ability to design and support reliable data movement patterns for batch loads, extracts, reconciliations, and downstream analytics/reporting consumption.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including member-facing audiences.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and ownership skills.

Nice To Have Skills

- Experience with OneLake and Fabric lakehouse or warehouse patterns.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, data cataloging, lineage, governance, or sensitivity classification.
- Experience with Data Agents or other emerging Microsoft Fabric tooling.
- Experience with Fabric Data Factory, notebooks, pipelines, semantic models, Direct Lake, or Power BI integration patterns.
- Experience with automation, monitoring, alerting, CI/CD, source control, and deployment practices for data integration solutions.
