Notice Period: Life on the team The Automation Initiative Lead is responsible for identifying, shaping, governing and delivering high-value automation and AI transformation initiatives across GIS and business functions. The role owns the journey from opportunity identification through business case creation, delivery oversight, stakeholder management and value realisation. The position operates as an internal consultant focused on scaling Automation and AI adoption while ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.

What you’ll do Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Management (20%) Identify automation and AI opportunities across business functions. Conduct value assessments and prioritisation exercises. Build and maintain automation roadmaps.

Establish initiative intake and qualification processes.

Business

Case & Value Realisation (20%) Develop business cases and investment proposals. Define benefits, ROI and success metrics. Track realised business value.

Initiative Delivery

Leadership (25%) Lead complex automation and AI initiatives. Coordinate architects, developers and business stakeholders.



Manage dependencies, risks and delivery milestones. Ensure successful transition into operational support.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement (15%) Partner with senior business leaders. Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions. Present proposals and progress to leadership forums. Governance & Standards (10%) Promote best practices and reusable solution patterns.

Ensure alignment with AI governance and architecture standards. Drive consistency in delivery approaches. Innovation & Emerging Technologies (10%) Evaluate emerging AI technologies.

Drive

PoCs and innovation experiments. Recommend strategic technology investments. What you’ll need Essential Skills Experience managing digital transformation programmes. Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.

Understanding of AI, automation and enterprise platforms. Business case development and benefits tracking. Programme and project leadership experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
