About the Role

GenAirate Technologies builds SnapLine, an AI-powered submission intelligence platform that converts unstructured broker submissions, emails, PDFs, Excel files, images, into structured, decision-ready data for underwriters. Built for Lloyd's and the London Market, SnapLine is now expanding into US specialty insurance. We're looking for a Cloud & Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure powering SnapLine's AI pipelines as we scale across new customers and geographies.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be running production systems, not just designing them on a whiteboard. What You'll Do

Own and scale our cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP (ECS, VPC, IAM, Pub/Sub, Firestore, networking) supporting production AI workloads

Operate and optimise our AI/ML pipeline and vector database (OpenSearch) as submission volume grows

Maintain the infrastructure and documentation backing our SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certifications, including working directly with auditors

Design for the specific failure modes of document-heavy AI pipelines, such as messy PDFs, scanned images, and malformed spreadsheets, rather than generic SaaS scaling patterns

Support enterprise security reviews as the technical point of contact for prospective customers, including US MGAs and Lloyd's-adjacent buyers





Work closely with our engineering team (reporting into our core infra group) to keep systems reliable as we onboard current customers What We're Looking For

2+ years running production cloud infrastructure, with deep hands-on experience across AWS and GCP (ECS, IAM, VPC, Pub/Sub, Firestore)

Production experience with vector databases at scale. You've hit real failure modes (retrieval degradation, index rebuild downtime) and know how to design around them, not just deployed one in a demo

Experience operating infrastructure through a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit cycle, ideally as the engineer answering auditor questions directly

Comfortable communicating technical infrastructure decisions to non-technical stakeholders, including in customer-facing security reviews

Experience with agentic AI or LLM-based systems in production is a strong plus (Bedrock or equivalent)

Bonus: exposure to insurtech, fintech, or other regulated, related financial industries where data isolation and compliance carry real weight What We're Not Looking For

Big-name certifications, broad multi-cloud generalists with no depth, or infrastructure leadership experience without hands-on ownership. We need someone who can debug a 3am production issue and explain why it happened, not someone who's only ever managed the people who do.
