The Project Head – Civil Department at an integrated steel plant in Tilda, Raipur is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, executing, and commissioning all civil infrastructure and construction activities for the plant. This includes foundations, RCC and steel structures, industrial buildings, roads, drainage, water systems, and other site infrastructure required for sponge iron/DRI, steel melting, rolling mill, and power plant units

- Project planning & scheduling
- Preparing master project plans, detailed schedules, and resource loading for all civil works.
- Defining scope, milestones, critical paths, and completion targets for greenfield/brownfield expansions.app.jobitus+3

- Supervising and controlling all civil activities: earthwork, piling, foundations, RCC structures, steel structures, industrial sheds, floors, roads, drains, compound walls, and ancillary buildings.
- Ensuring quality of concrete, reinforcement, structural steel erection, and finishing as per design and codes
- Budgeting, cost control & contracts
- Preparing civil budgets, cost estimates, and BOQs; monitoring expenditures against budget.
- Managing contracts with civil contractors, vendors, and consultants; handling variations, claims, and change orders.
- Driving cost optimization without compromising safety or quality.engineeristic+3
- Coordination & interface management
- Coordinating with process/mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and project teams to align civil work with equipment erection and commissioning.




- Liaising with design institutes/consultants for basic and detailed engineering drawings, and resolving site design issues.engineeristic+3
- Quality, safety & compliance
- Implementing QA/QC procedures, inspections, and test protocols (cube tests, NDT, surveys, etc.).
- Ensuring strict adherence to HSE norms, statutory regulations, and environmental clearances on site.
- Conducting safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations for civil works.
- Resource & team leadership
- Leading a large civil team (engineers, supervisors, surveyors, planners, safety officers).
- Manpower planning, training, performance management, and fostering a solid safety and execution culture.
- Monitoring, reporting & reviews
- Tracking progress vs. baseline schedule; preparing daily/weekly/monthly progress reports for top management.
- Conducting review meetings, identifying delays/risks, and driving corrective actions.app.jobitus+2
